Roll run-in
As an available service, PRG can run-in your new or rebuilt suction roll to ensure all seals function properly
under operating conditions.
Vacuum testing
PRG's suction roll test station features a vacuum pump and can check seals for leak detection while under load.
This assures consistent quality of all seals prior to return.
The PRG Suction Roll Inspection/Rebuild Procedure:
Inspect visually
Remove suction box
Remove drive side, tending side, and suction box assemblies.
Inspect the following:
Bearings
Bearing housings and bearing journal fits and conditions
Drive side and tending side head fits
Shim pack condition
Seals: end seals and longitudinal seals
End seal adjusting devices
Air load tubes and supply piping
Operation of suction box rotating device
Shower heads and nozzles
Removal rollers and skid blocks
Suction box lubrication and supply piping
Shell: visual outside and inside
Inspection reports plus recommended repair/replacement costs will be provided
O.D. Profile
Estimate of the percentage of hole blockage
Pressure-washing
Vacuum pump test to check seal leakage
