Rolls that are heated typically have to be ground at their operating temperature due to the thermal expansion of the material. In addition to hot grinding, PRG can create an individual mapping program of your roll upon first time hot grinding. This process involves:

• Hot grinding of your roll at operating temperatures
• Allowing roll to cool and contract
• Map the face of the roll using PRG proprietary software

This allows for future roll grinding without the need of grinding at standard roll operating conditions. Mapping reduces the cost of grinding by eliminating a costly step for future roll services. For more information on hot grinding, contact one of our four facilities.
