Your rolls are inspected, tested and evaluated using two primary methods of destructive testing:

• Liquid Penetration Testing – A low viscosity fluid is applied to the roll surface allowing fissures and voids to be filled with said fluid, while excess material is removed from the surface. Using a fluorescent light, the developer reveals the locations of any cracks or voids via luminescence. 
• Magnetic Particle Testing – Using an articulated AC/DC yoke, a magnetic field is applied to the surface of the metal being studied. From here, a magnetic particle solution is applied to the surface within the magnetic field. The field will orient the particles around any break in the magnetic field, including cracks or voids.
